My background
From feature writing to copy editing...
I started my career as a newspaper reporter in the late 1970s, and eventually moved into feature writing. Then, I became a medical writer for several publications, including The Palm Beach Post, a South Florida newspaper covering an area from Boca Raton up to the Treasure Coast.
My most recent gig was as an editor for Psychotherapy Finances, a national monthly newsletter for mental health professionals. I have also designed and written practice newsletters that therapists can send to patients and referral sources. Newsletters can be a powerful but low-pressure marketing tool that keeps your practice high profile among the people you need to reach.
Currently, in addition to tackling a variety of editing and writing projects, I publish a daily blog about health care called Headline Health. I offer what I think is a unique perspective on some of the major medical, health care and lifestyle stories of the day. Readership is growing every week. Please check it out.
